In 2020, Colorado voters narrowly passed a measure to re-introduce the Gray Wolf into Colorado’s backcountry. This decision once again sparked controversy between conservationists, hunters, and ranchers by forcing the reintroduction and management of the wolf population rather than allowing wolves to migrate here naturally, which has already taken place. While I love wolves and would be thrilled to see them in their natural environment, I was raised on a farm and have no doubt that Dad would have shot one if it threatened his herd. My goal with this piece is to spark thought and conversations: At what level is human interference in nature acceptable?
